Celebrate the Wild West

Winthrop's 69th annual '49er Days is May 9-11.  Catch all the action of this incredible event starting at high noon on Friday, May 9 when the Ride the Rendezvous horse and wagon train returns to town after a week in the hills.

Saturday is the main event with the '49er Parade. Events start at 10am the parade begins at 11am.  For those wishing to join the parade, applications can be found here.  More information on all the '49er events can be found on our website. This is a perfect weekend to celebrate with your family especially  in honor of Mother's Day!  We hope to see you there!

Sunflower Marathon and Relay May 10

For 34 years, every May, we have been running through fields of wildflowers!  

We hope you can join us Saturday, May 10th for the Sunflower Marathon and Relay!.  Gather your friends and family and form a team of 2-5 runners or tackle the full 26.2 miles from Mazama to Twisp all by yourself.  Don't wait to register, team entry is limited and sells out every year!  See you there!

For 68 years straight, Winthrop has been celebrating our western history. Winthrop '49er Days is a party for every cowboy and cowgirl. Two parades of horses and wagons roll through town over the weekend with Saturday's parade being the big one and the one the whole family should not miss. Watercolor Retreat

Do you love to paint? Or would love to learn. This is a great opportunity to learn from one of the Methow Valley's finest artists, Paula Christen.

Beginner Watercolor Weekend Workshop Dates: 4/5/2013 - 4/7/2013 Location: Methow Valley Inn Twisp, WA. 234 Second Ave Twisp Washington 98856 United States Yes, you can do this! Never painted? Can't draw a straight line but you'd secretly love to try watercolor? Then this weekend is for you! No prior art experience is needed. I'll teach you easy-to-do basic techniques for creating your first painting.        During this all beginners 2-day class, you'll be guided step by step with demos and lots of hands on painting time. We'll talk about deciding what to paint, tricks to making a fail proof composition and how to get it on your paper.  Bright spring colors in the valley will inspire you to practice the new skills in the relaxing comfort of the  Methow Valley Inn B & B.  The Inn's sun room is perfect for classes! Bring a spouse or friend to enjoy the area's recreation of hiking, biking or just walking the 2 blocks to Twisp's city center and riverfront park.       At the end of each day, we gather around the Inn's lovely rock fireplace for a social hour with local wines and appetizers before dinner. Your non painting friend or spouse is invited to join us for meals and social hours. Here's the Workshop schedule and details: Arrive Thursday, anytime. Check in for the Inn, after 3:00 pm and a "rolling dinner" for those staying at the Inn. Friday: Class from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
